Inga trikåer! Inga peruker! Inga löspolisonger! Vi är måna om att hylla Elvis Presley med respekt, kärlek och passion. Föreställningen går att köpa in i olika format: 1. Duo. Piano och sång. Passar ett mindre festsällskap. 2. Hela bandet. Högoktanig föreställning som passar bygdegårdar och andra mindre konserthallar. 3. Hela bandet plus Kören Graceland Singers. Föreställning i tre akter (3 timmar) som passar större konsertställen. 4. Ballroom-sättning. Hela bandet för en renodlad danskväll. 5. Rockabilly Trio. En trio med 40 minuters föreställning med material från 1954-1956. Redan när första Elvislåten levererades med fullt ös var publiken i stämning och livsandarna vaknade. Fotstamp, handklappningar och visslingar följde på låtarna. Det spratt i benen och det var säkert många som kände suget efter att dansa.  Det var musiken, Elvis mångfacetterade sångskatt med country, gospel, soul och rock, som Kent med band satte fokus på. Och det gjorde man med ett fenomenalt ös som fick kvällens häftiga skyfall att blekna. Mellan låtarna berättade kent med genuin värme och äkta engagemang om människan och musikern Elvis, om hans liv, sorger och glädjeämnen. Galna Las Vegas-låtar, där bandet öste på med oemotståndlig kraft, godbitar som Suspicious Minds och In the Ghetto varvades med mindre kända låtar men inte desto mindre engagemang. Det blev för många en suckande längtansfylld minnenas kväll och man tackade med jubel, visslingar och rop. Enköpingsposten Ville passa på att Tacka för en dunder trevlig föreställning igår. Hade mycket trevligt och för mig som inte är så spec förtjust i Elvis, får nog medge att jag ger efter ännu lite till för honom. Många låtar jag aldrig hört tidigare... Roligt att se alla otroligt duktiga musiker...Å sen vilken kör...behöver inte säga så mycket mer..ståpäls än idag. Jag är mer än nöjd. Signatur "Pulver" Det var länge sen jag fick så mycket för relativt lite pengar. Strålande jobbat! Signatur "Per" Frånvaron av löspolisonger, tajta trikåer och utstuderade höftrullningar gjorde att fokus hamnade på låtarna. Och vilka låtar sen! Östhammars Musikvecka Kent Wennman tog med publiken på en musikalisk odyssé från 1960 och fram till rocklegendens död och öste friskt ur den omfattande låtskatten. Med pedagogisk skärpa och ironiska blinkningar förklarade han sin egen fascination för rocklegenden, och lyckades säkert omvända en och annan skeptiker. Uppsala Nya Tidning Tack för en av de bästa konserter jag varit på i år! Fullkomligt lysande! - sång, ljud, scennärvaro, formidabel organist, en härlig helhet! Och Afrokören lyfte hela konserten till en helt seren nivå. UNDERBART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ola Walukievich Det var vältrimmat och råtajt. Det gick knappast att ta miste på att det här bandet har lirat Elvis många, många gånger förr. Uppsalatidningen VARMT TACK, för en fantastisk kväll på Katalin i fredags!!!! This is an ultracool, intellectual tribute to the laterday Elvis of the seventies. With its Low-fi country style and beautiful arrangement, this record will give you a completely new picture of Elvis and his music. How come a Swedish band understands an American icon better than the Americans do? Very fine work of art! Reviewer: Reb (buyer at CD Baby) I got a wery pleasant chock when i listened to this guys! They do a fine tribute to the king! Fine musicians and singer do a wery fine job in this album to give Mr Presley theirs tribute to the best singer in the world! Shortly said: I love this! Reviewer: Lennart Götesson/Dalademokraten (Swedish Newspaper) Sampo Axelsson & Kent Wennman, who are Orange, took a break and relaxed with some friends and recorded some Elvis tunes. But it doesn't sound like Elvis. It's about interpretations, to do them in a different way. And it's well done! Damned well done! Especially In the Ghetto is strong. The absolute worst thing about this record is that it only has 5 songs. Twice as much or even 15 songs would have been great! A great tribute to the King Reviewer: Janne Koponen I am not the biggest Elvis fan but at an orange concert I bought this fine little record and I was surprised to hear a completely new interpretation of some very familiar songs like In the Ghetto and Burning Love. But the outstanding performance of Good Time Charlie's got the blues is what really makes this record one of the best Elvis tributes I've ever heard. I'm impressed! Good arrangements and singing and above all, not at all "soundalike" or "lookalike", just great! Great musicians and singers don't need to copy. They are great just as they are. It works great with the rather demanding In the Ghetto, here as a slow country ballad, and in Good time Charliés got the blues, at least as good as Elvis's version. Rocking Burning Love and the live recording of I'm moving on also works great, while True love travels on a gravel road is the only track I miss the voice of Elvis. A great Elvis tribute record! Reviews for the second minialbum Bossa Nova Baby and other songs associated with the King Another great and fitting tribute to the King, not burdened with pathetic soundalikes and lookalikes. This is an ultracool, intellectual tribute to the mature Elvis of the late sixties and the seventies. With its Low-fi country style and beautiful arrangement, this record will give you a completely new picture of Elvis and his music. How come a Swedish band understands an American icon better than the Americans do? The band Orange have listened carefully and their third CD is a fitting tribute to the King with a lot of compassion and conviction. Even a novelty number like "Bossa Nova Baby" shows that not everything was a total disaster with Elvis's movies in the sixties. "Don't cry daddy", from his critically acclaimed American Sessions in 1969, is here delivered with a new interpretation and with a great country sound which I'm sure Elvis himself would have liked. And the bonus track, a live recording of an old Percy Mayfield number, "Stranger in my own home town", clearly shows that Orange is not just another tribute band. Discovering Elvis through Orange Reviewer: Bart van der Gaag (Buyer at CD Baby) I,ve never been an Elvis fan. I guess I was born a little too late to appreciate the king. So Bossa Nova Baby is more Orange then Elvis for me. I can't compare, or even say that one version is better then the other. But I think with this CD it really isn't relevent. Bossa Nova Baby is brilliant in it's own right. I won't be converted into an Elvis fan, but an Orange fan. Personal Interpretations! Reviewer: Bengt Eriksson, Hifi & Musik I happened to hear the song GOOD TIME CHARLIE'S GOT THE BLUES with the band ORANGE on a Mr Music country collection. A very personal interpretation indeed! So I got their 2 mini-albums from their website. Personal and good, sometimes Very Good! (4 stars for the music 3+ for the sound) This review is for both mini-albums. Un groupe suédois s’en est souvenu et se fait appeler Orange. Kent Wennman & Sampo Axelsson ont enregistré “Take A Look On The Inside”, dans un style à la fois inspiré par la pop anglaise et la country américaine. Le groupe a ensuite choisi de se consacrer au répertoire d’Elvis. “Orange & Friends Perform In The Ghetto And Other Songs Associated With The King”, de juillet 2003, connut un tel impact que sort maintenant un deuxième volet, “Bossa Nova Baby” avec, outre la chanson titre, très bien traitée avec de l’orgue Hammond, un peu à la Georgie Fame, “I Really Don’t Want To Know”, “Moody Blue” (beaux effets de pedal steel), “Don’t Cry Daddy” (comme un vrai futur classique de new country, et “Stranger In My Home Town” enregistré en concert avec là aussi une belle partie à l’orgue. Bon choix de titres, compétence musicale, originalité et sentiment vrai devraient valoir à Orange une enviable réputation internationale (kattguld.com). Kent Wennman & Sampo Axelsson has recorded the album "Take a look on the inside", in a style inspired by both english pop and American country music. The band has also recorded 2 mini-albums with songs from Elvis Presley's repertoire. ORANGE & FRIENDS PERFORM IN THE GHETTO AND OTHER SONGS ASSOCIATED WITH THE KING from july 2003 had such a reception that a now comes a second mini album. BOSSA NOVA BABY & OTHER GREAT SONGS ASSOCIATED WITH THE KING with the title track treated well on Hammondorgan in the style of Georgie Fame, I really don't want to know, Moody Blue (fine pedal steel effects), Don't cry daddy (like a future modern country classic) and Stranger in my own home town, recorded live, also with a great Hammond organ. Nice song selection, competence, and real feeling. Orange deserves an international reputation. More Elvis from Orange! The best song is Bossa Nova Baby, here as a great Hammond organ shuffle. A countryrocking Moody Blue is a reminder, that behind Elvis fat productions of his last recordings, there were som great song. The other songs on this minialbum are great too, even if I sometimes miss the vocie of Elvis. 5 strong experiences! Now Orange is here with their third minialbum with songs associated with the King. This time with more gospel flavour. Afro Choir is there to provide gospel feeling. What makes this album so good is that it is not about imitation. It is about love. Singer Kent Wennman sings like himself but with personality and feeling. For the most it's very good. Självlysande! Lennart Götesson, Dalademokraten. Uppsalabaserade Orange med Kent Wennman i spetsen fortsätter med att göra Elvislåtar på sitt eget vis. Kent Wennman och hans gäng har hittat ytterligare några Elvislåtar att göra om och inleder CD:n med en magnifik version av Shake a hand. Det är en låt med mycket blues och soul och ett oerhört tryck. Trycket i låtarna har Orange denna gång fått hjälp med av Afro Choir. Det finns många som försöker efterlikna Elvis till punkt och pricka. Orange gör något nytt, gör om, gör sin version. Likheter med Elvis är ofrånkomliga, men olikheterna är fler. Orange får fram nya dimensioner i låtar som Always on my mind och So high, där Orange och Afro Choir fått till en riktig gospelstämning. Det här är Oranges tredje minialbum på Elvistemat. Tyvärr kan skivorna vara lite svåra att få tag på, men man kan kolla in på www.cdbaby.com, om nu inte den lokale skivhökaren har plattorna hemma. För den puritanske Elvisfantasten är Orange kanske inte så mycket att ha, men för oss alla andra är det kul att höra låtarna på ett sätt som man inte alltid trodde det skulle kunna låta. Och Orange förstör absolut ingenting. Låtarna behandlas med respekt. Tack gode Gud att inte Jailhouse Rock är med! Uppsalatidningen "Personligen är jag vansinnigt trött på Elvis Covers men med en fet afrokör i ryggen lyckas faktiskt herr Wennman väldigt bra och detta känns faktiskt som någonting som även hardcore Elvisfans kan kunna ta till sig. Produktionen är väldigt snygg och det låter faktiskt som de menar det. Och tack gode gud för att Jailhouse Rock inte är med."
